Second Painting
Jan 18th.

They have a tougher presence after second painting.

A richer surface close to painting. I guess I have to admit it's a painting.
Now to decide if I should paint in oil.
They seem to join the ranks of the new scale of painting. I took some home and hug them in my apartment, what I never do-- and they relate well to the scale of domestic space.
Something I never cared about.

Progress on Gesso drawings on canvas.
Jan16th.
First painting. The surface is lean so I am repainting-- which will now be more of a painting.
For me the "painting" begins with the surface becoming all positive and negative.
That back and forth of surface tension is one of the main aspects of my painting.
Drawing usually still has some space in that relation. This is all very subtile so it is not really seen on the internet screen.
